What will I do right now when receive subcontractor invoices

I work as an accountant at Inland Construction, a general contractor specializing in residential construction, including single-family homes, ADUs, remodels, and more. Our jobs typically range from $100K to $500K. We would need a substantial number of subcontractors to handle various aspects of the jobs.

Managing their invoice records poses a significant challenge, particularly when we receive preliminary lien notices from their suppliers. These notices can be complex, with multiple filings for different subcontractors across various projects. It’s crucial to be checking these records before issuing any checks to our subcontractors, to prevent any possible mechanical liens. Our business relies heavily on reputation as we don’t engage in traditional advertising. In our small community, even one negative feedback could undo all the hard work we’ve done.

Concerned about potential issues, my boss, Oscar, suggested using a construction accounting software other than QuickBooks to manage that. Although QuickBooks is a good platform, it’s not specifically designed for the construction industry, even with its construction version. That’s when I discovered APARBooks. After two rounds of product demos, I found that it could meet my specific requirements. I believed I could fully transition my workload from QuickBooks to APARBooks, especially since it offers the feature of check printing. Additionally, it provide feature a very helpful reminder for active Preliminary Lien Notices before issuing a check. It’s a so valuable product that not only saves me time but also ensures accuracy in managing our subcontractor relationships, preventing any potential issues. Thank you for your hard work; it’s a very good project!
